Dear Santa Barbara Resident,

The City of Santa Barbara is developing a Parks and Recreation Master Plan to guide priorities and investments for years to come. As part of this effort, we are conducting a community survey to understand what is working well, what could be improved, and what should be prioritized in the future. Your response matters! The City manages parks, beaches, open spaces and trails, sports fields and courts, playgrounds, swimming pools, community and recreation centers, community gardens, and other public spaces. We also provide recreation programs, camps, classes, community events, and activities for people of all ages and abilities. Whether you use these places and programs frequently, occasionally, or not at all, we want to hear from you. After completing the survey, you may enter a drawing for a chance to win a $500 prepaid Visa gift card.

ETC Institute, an independent research firm, is conducting the survey on the City’s behalf. Your individual responses will remain confidential. Once analyzed, the results will be available in a summary report and presented to City Council.

If you have questions about the survey, please contact Ryan Murray, ETC Institute Project Manager, at 913-254-4598 or Ryan.Murray@etcinstitute.com. Thank you for helping us plan a parks and recreation system that reflects the needs and priorities of the Santa Barbara community.
